The suffrage (short prayer) to every saint is illustrated with a pair of small miniatures – one within the main text and one in the margin – showing events from the saint’s life.

Suffrage to St Margaret of Antioch

St Margaret is being dragged by her hair in the marginal image, while in the main miniature she emerges victorious from the dragon who swallowed her, clutching her red cross.
