The suffrage (short prayer) to every saint is illustrated with a pair of small miniatures – one within the main text and one in the margin – showing events from the saint’s life.

Suffrage to St John the Baptist

St John the Baptist performs the Baptism of Christ in the main image and points to the lamb in the margin. The facial types and the clouds drifting across the sky identify this as the work of the Giac Master.
