Each month of the Calendar occupies a single page decorated with a partial bar border in colours and gold with scrolls of vine leaves, oak and acorn motifs, and panels filled with geometric ornament.
The KL initials in colours and gold at the top of the page stand for kalenda, the first day of the month in the Roman calendar. There are no miniatures of the Labours of the Month or Zodiac signs. The only figural elements in the Calendar are the hybrids incorporated in the borders for the months of April and August.
