The image of St Laurence, which came from Santa Maria degli Angeli’s Corale 19 produced in the 1390s, has been attributed to various artists: Don Silvestro dei Gherarducci; an illuminator who collaborated with him on several of Santa Maria degli Angeli’s Corali and has been named the Maestro delle Canzoni after his work in a Book of Songs (Paris, Bibliothèque nationale de France, MS ital. 568); or the painter and illuminator Mariotto di Nardo who was active in Florence between 1394 and 1424.
