Young Producers Programme

Interested in creativity and culture and want to share your ideas? Join The Fitzwilliam Museum’s Young Producers

The Young Producers are a collective of around 10 young people aged 18–25 from around Cambridgeshire who meet at the museum to socialise, create artworks and collaborate on exciting projects and events. Designed with and for young people, it’s an inclusive and safe space to be creative and express yourself.

What do Young Producers do?

As a Young Producer, you get to influence the shape of what you work on – whether that’s putting on an event, developing a creative project or working alongside an artist to respond to a Fitzwilliam display.

Sessions are free and take place every two weeks, usually on Tuesday afternoons (3–5pm), at the museum. You could be creating artistic responses for a display in the museum, going behind the scenes with museum experts or co-producing events for young people. Plus, we always have time for a chat and sharing delicious snacks together.

Who is the programme for?

The programme is for 18–25-year-olds who live permanently around Cambridge. We are committed to supporting young people from less advantaged backgrounds and who are underrepresented in the cultural sector – including (but not limited to) those living in rural areas, who are carers or who have been looked after, who are disabled, neurodivergent or have experience of mental health challenges.

If you need to travel to get to the museum, we can cover transport expenses for Young Producers, up to £15 per session.

How do I join?

We are currently recruiting for our next project, which will run until August 2026. Recruitment will close on Tuesday, 12 May 2026. Spaces are limited and we will reopen recruitment in the autumn.
