The display currently on show in the octagonal gallery space is entitled Women: makers and muses. It shows works by women artists from the Fitzwilliam’s own collection, including Barbara Hepworth and Bridget Riley and also works where women are the subject matter. One wall contains one of Picasso’s portraits of Dora Maar next to a portrait of a young girl by Fernand Leger. On show are works from the xxth century to the present day, and a series of prints by women artists are shown in the corridor leading to Gallery 11.
