"Zoë Ellison encouraged us to explore the museums and galleries in Cambridge and beyond, to look at historic and contemporary art and objects as examples  of what and how to make. She introduced us to contemporary studio potters,  jewellers, printmakers and sculptors, including Robert Welch who was based in Suffolk. Zoë herself also collected works by her contemporaries, which she brought to her classes. She later gave her collection to the Fitzwilliam, which included some of pieces seen here.”
