Museum Late: Tau o Mai | Journeys with Mai

Join us for an after-hours takeover of the Fitzwilliam Museum. Explore our 'Tau o Mai | Journeys with Mai' display and enjoy an evening of art, music, performance and screenings inspired by the show’s themes. Discover immersive installations, DJs and visuals, or take part in hands-on workshops designed to spark your imagination.

Exploring powerful themes of connection, belonging and legacy, 'Tau o Mai | Journeys with Mai' CSVPA artists present an array of creativity — spanning fashion, graphics, illustration, fashion branding and communication, art, design, music and performance – as emerging talents push boundaries and reimagine the museum space through bold, innovative expression.

Grab a drink and some delicious food, and get ready for an evening of fun and creativity.

Enjoy a live DJ set by CSVPA music students alongside a showreel of bold visual work by BA Fashion Branding & Creative Communication students.

CSVPA showcase

Throughout the Museum, 6.30 – 9pm

Get creative with students who will be presenting live fashion installations, interactive displays, screenings of film and animation and more throughout the galleries.

Collaborative 3D workshop

6.30 – 9pm

Join artist Olivia Bevan in this workshop using transfer and collage techniques. Working with landscape imagery, this session invites you to explore your relationship with the natural world, reflecting the themes of the display.

Journeys with Mai: Drawing VĀ

Get hands-on in this live, participatory drawing activity inspired by ‘Tau o Mai | Journeys with Mai’ and the Polynesian concept of VĀ, the sacred connection between people, objects and place. Come together to draw, respond and contribute, creating a single, evolving artwork that changes as the evening unfolds.

Sustainable fabric draping workshop

Twist, fold, gather and layer leftover fabrics, then explore a sustainable fashion showcase.
