The Fitzwilliam Museum learning Department aims to build connections between the Museum's collection and as wide a variety of people as possible. Members of the Fitzwilliam learning team also fulfil a strategic role within the University of Cambridge Museums consortium, coordinating partnership activity and offering support and guidance to colleagues.

University of Cambridge Museums is a consortium of the eight University Museums and the Cambridge University Botanic Garden, which works in partnership with other Cambridge University collections as well as with museums regionally, nationally and internationally. Our programmes focus on unlocking the University's collections, and the research activities which underpin them, for a larger and more diverse audience.

We are now recruiting a Learning Associate: Schools and Teachers who will report to the Fitzwilliam Museum Head of Learning.

This role plays a leading role in relation to a key audience segment for the Fitzwilliam Museum, as well as initiating, developing, co-ordinating and contributing to the delivery of a number of projects and programmes each year, including delivering schools sessions on a regular basis. This includes developing and maintaining partnerships to enable a variety of people to access the activity.

As well as project initiation, management (including budget management) and delivery, the role has responsibility for on evaluation and research in relation to the programme area and sharing and disseminating practice, contributing to our sector leadership responsibilities.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 March 2022 in the first instance.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check (enhanced with children and adults' barred lists) and a security check.
