INSPIRE2020 (December 2019- March 2020) will be the first exhibition of work made by primary school children in the Octagon Gallery at The Fitzwilliam Museum. The exhibition will provide an exciting opportunity to celebrate the amazing creativity of local schools and teachers at a time when there are growing concerns that the arts are being squeezed out of the curriculum.

Modelled on the National Gallery, London’s, Take One Picture, the project focuses on one painting, Cupid and Psyche by Jacopo del Sellaio, as a source of ideas and inspiration for further creative and cross-curricular enquiry.

In preparation for the exhibition, we are delighted to be working with Sheila Ceccarelli and Paula Briggs from AccessArt to deliver a series of CPD sessions designed to encourage teachers to use the museum collection to support their pupils’ learning and creative development.
