This circular diagram, drawn with a compass, contains data used to determine the date of Easter, a 'moveable' feast, celebrated on a different date from year to year, depending on the relationship between the solar and lunar calendars and the cycle of the week. At the centre is a six-petalled rosette in blue, yellow and brown, with red and blue penwork ornament filling the spaces between the petals.
