This page shows a section of John Rocque's large map An exact survey of the cities of London and Westminster... begun in 1741, finished in 1745, engraved by Richard Parr.
(The book is from Lord Fitzwilliam's collection, and his grandfather, Sir Matthew Decker, is listed as one of the subscribers).
The markers show the location of the shops featured in the online exhibition about the Fitzwilliam Museum's trade bills sent to the Blathwayt family, living on Golden Square from 1767-87. The different colours correspond to the two sections of the exhibition. White markers focus on the lives of the trades-people; red markers concentrate more on the recorded purchases.
