Art GCSE and A Level Support Sessions

What is it?

Throughout half-term members of the Fitzwilliam Museum Education team will be available to give one-to-one advice to students preparing for art exams. We will help students research their theme by revealing the wealth of ideas and inspiration in the work of other artists.

We believe that the quality of research made by direct contact with the artwork, rather than just on-line, will improve the quality of observation and annotation recorded in the students sketchbooks, and lead to better marks.

We will offer:

• starting points – details of works in the collection we have selected as being particularly relevant to this year’s themes;
• gallery tours – at least twice each day (11.30 am and 2.00 pm) we will lead informal tours of some of the works relevant to the theme;
• practical studio support;
• advice on how to make the best of our on-line resources.

When and where?

Based in the informal atmosphere of our Education Studio this service is free and available on a drop-in basis on the following days: Tuesday 13 to Saturday 17 February, Saturday 24 February and Saturday 3 March.
