Terracotta horse

A Cypro-Archaic I (750 B.C. — 600 B.C.) horse figurine, terracotta horse, decorated in red and black, given in memory of Sir Gordon and Lady Sutherland by their daughters. Terracotta horse and horse –and-riders figurines are common among tomb gifts from the Cypro-Geometric to the Cypro-Archaic period with the horse, like the chariot being a status symbol for the deceased.
