University of Cambridge Museums is a consortium of the eight University Museums and the Cambridge University Botanic Garden, which works in partnership with other Cambridge University collections as well as with museums regionally, nationally and internationally. Our programmes focus on unlocking the University’s collections, and the research activities which underpin them, for a larger and more diverse audience.

We are now recruiting a Learning Associate: Widening Participation and Strategic Schools who will report to the Fitzwilliam Museum Head of Learning, with a remit across the UCM.

Collections and Documentation Coordinator - £28,660 - £34,189

The Fitzwilliam Museum is the principal museum of the University of Cambridge with designated collections of international importance, a staff of c.200 FTE, and a volunteer workforce of 100+.The Fitzwilliam is also the largest cultural venue in the region, welcoming some 400,000 visitors a year to its permanent galleries, temporary exhibitions and wide-ranging public engagement programme.  The Museum has over half a million works of art and antiquities spanning centuries and displays them in 23 galleries.

We are seeking to appoint this role as a permanent position.  If you are appointed, your primary focus will be to ensure that the Museum thoroughly records and documents its holdings, transforming access to collections data and related assets for real and virtual visitors, researchers and students.

Head of Facilities & Visitor Experience - Full Time - £40,792-£51,630

The Fitzwilliam Museum is the principal museum of the University of Cambridge with designated collections of international importance, a staff of c.200 FTE, and a volunteer workforce of 100+. The Museum houses over half a million works of art and antiquities spanning centuries and civilisations and displays them in 23 galleries. There are also stores, offices, education rooms, studios and conservation laboratories across six buildings in Cambridge, all of which require constant inspection and regular maintenance.  All parts of the main museum building are Grade 1 listed, and must meet stringent government indemnity and insurance standards for the security, care and display of works of art, particularly in relation to security, building maintenance and environmental conditions.

We are now recruiting a Head of Facilities & Visitor Experience who will report to the Assistant Director, Operations and Engagement, and be responsible for Facilities, Security and Visitor Services, supporting the strategic and effective operation of the museum
