Britten Sinfonia Academy in residence at the Fitz
An ensemble of talented young classical musicians of secondary school age from the East of England. Working with professional members of the orchestra, the Academy’s musicians will participate in a weekend residency at the Fitz where they will work with composer Philip Cashian to create music inspired by the Museum and its artefacts. Members of the public are welcome to observe the group from behind a barrier, as they take part in creative workshops during the afternoons.
The finished pieces will be performed in 2014 at the Fitzwilliam Museum and West Road Concert Hall Cambridge; and St Andrew’s Hall, Norwich.
