Alexander Maitland, author of Wilfred Thesiger: The Life of the Great Explorer

A legend in his own lifetime, the explorer and traveller Wilfred Thesiger, author of the Danakil Diaries, spent his childhood in Ethiopia and travelled there repeatedly throughout his life, often to some of the remotest, most dangerous places on earth. His close friend, biographer and literary executor Alexander Maitland will give a revealing account of Thesiger’s fascination for the country.
