TT99: 'Archaeology in action' -- Relaxing textiles

Here you see a video made in late September 2000 of Julie Dawson working on the shroud of Senneferi. First she removes the cover which has been keeping the humidity in the textile. Then she works carefully with a brush to remove as much of the creasing in the material (called 'relaxing' it) as she safely can. Lastly she places small weights over areas of fabric to smooth it down.
