TT99: 'Archaeology in action' -- ostraka

Heike Behlmer is an expert on Coptic ostraka from Thebes. Here you see her working on our examples in the courtyard of the tomb. She studies each one closely, but as many of them are not clear, one method of enhancing the text is to look at it while wet. Water can't be used for this as it would dissolve the ink, but pure alcohol does not have the same effect, so you see this being dripped on a typical ostrakon.
