Henry Temple, 2nd Viscount Palmerston (d.1802), bt. 1773; descended to William Francis Cowper-Temple, Lord Mount-Temple (d.1888), and from him to Wilfrid William Ashley, Lord Mount Temple (d.1939), to his elder daughter Countess Mountbatten of Burma; sold to Messrs. P. and D. Colnaghi Co. Ltd., London, from whom bought by The Friends of the Fitzwilliam Museum
