Margaret Mair – Chairman

Margaret joined the Committee in 2008 and became chairman in 2009. She oversees the Friends and the Committee, liaising with the Director and Finance Department and others as required.

Penny Cleobury – Secretary

Penny works in the Friends’ Office in Trumpington Street. She deals with subscriptions, membership, liaison with the Museum staff and arrangements of Museum based events and social occasions.

Gwen Borysiewicz - University Liaison

Gwen joined the Committee in January 2014 and has lived in Cambridge since October 2010 when her husband was appointed Vice Chancellor. She will be developing the involvement of the History of Art faculty and lead on other University liaison.

Sarah Bradfield – Visits and Tours

Sarah joined the Friends’ Committee in 2010 and organises visits to museums and stately homes that are further afield and may involve a coach journey.

Sarah Burles - Friends Events in the Museum

Sarah, whose background is history of art and museums and galleries in education and who for a number of years worked at the Fitzwilliam joined the Committee in January 2015 to lead on arranging events for Friends in the Museum.

Nick Chrimes – Talks and Lectures

Nick, who is an author and blue badge guide, lectures for the Friends and arranges the Teas on Tuesday. He also supports Gilly with the local tours.

Gilly Harrison – Cambridge and College Visits

Gilly arranges and leads on the very popular local Cambridge tours to Colleges and other places of interest.

Jane Helliwell - Visits and Tours (away from Cambridge)

Jane organises the visits to museums, stately homes and other venues outside Cambridge.

Nicola Hughes - Volunteer Coordinator

Nicola works as Volunteer Co-ordinator at Duxford Museum and organises the Friends of the Fitzwilliam Volunteers.

Sue Rhodes – Museum Representative

Sue is the Development Officer for the Museum and supports the Friends’ Committee as the Museum Representative.

Monica Thomas – Newsletter Mailings

Monica organizes the volunteers who three times a year do all the Friends and Museum mailing. In addition she arranges the very popular Tea on Tuesday in the Friends Room on the first Tuesday of each month in term time.

Cazzy Walshe - Social Events, Website and Membership

Cazzy edits and arranges the printing of the newsletter/programme of events which is mailed to Friends in December, April and August. She also arranges the ticketing of Friends’ events with the Corn Exchange and leads on the Friends’ website.
