The Macclesfield Psalter
This important work of medieval art was saved for the nation in 2005. Following the sale of the Psalter to a museum in the USA, a temporary export ban was placed on the manuscript. The Art Fund launched a successful public appeal to raise £1.7 million on behalf of the Fitzwilliam with the support of many public and private donors.
