New sources of information
The redisplay of the Egyptian galleries at the Fitzwilliam Museum was accompanied
by a programme of conservation
and research. This allowed us to find out more about how objects came into the museum's Egyptian
collection and the people involved. This information is now being made available via the Internet to people
all over the world.
Installation of a computer in gallery 19 has allowed visitors to access the museum's database to find out more about the objects which interest them in the galleries. It is also possible from there to access information about any of the objects in the museum's collections.
