December - The Founder's Library

Rounding up the Object of the Month series is an in-depth look at the Founder's Library. Built along with the first part of the Museum, the Library was primarily intended to store the huge amount of works, both Manuscripts and Printed books that made up part of Viscount Fitzwilliam's original Bequest.

November: Lt. Hill's Military Cross

November's Object of the Month is the Military Cross awarded to Lieutenant Arthur Dudley Hill. Dr Adrian Popescu, Keeper of Coins and Medals explains the story behind the medal, which was awarded to Lieutenant Hill for his part in the WWI Battle of Loos in 1915.
