Treasure Under Your Feet

To 4 September

From a Bronze-Age torc and a Tudor jewel to Viking hack-silver and gold coins of the Civil War, discover the story of various finds from the East of England that have contributed to our understanding of the life and times of our predecessors.

The exhibition draws on public and private collections in the region, as well as from the Fitzwilliam’s own holdings.

Following the success of the restoration of Gallery 1, the Museum is now moving ahead with the restoration of Gallery 5. 

The gallery, which features collections of 19th-20th century French art, is closed for the next few months to carry out the refurbishment with reopening planned for the autumn.

Italian Drawings: Highlights from the Collection

Until 10 July

Explore the work of the Italian masters, from the Renaissance to the 20th century, with this exhibition celebrating the Fitzwilliam's outstanding collection of drawings. Artists featured include da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raphael, the Carracci, Titian, Tintoretto and Veronese, Polidoro da Caravaggio and more.

Italian Etchings: The Draughtsman's Print

Until 29 August

Complementing  Italian Drawings, see etchings by 16th to 18th-century artists including Parmigianino, Guido Reni, Castiglione, Salvator Rosa, Giambattista Tiepolo and Canaletto.

Recent prints by Jake & Dinos Chapman, Paul Coldwell, Mat Collishaw, Jane Dixon, Paul Morrison, Hughie O’Donoghue and Marc Quinn.
