The temporary assignment will be conducted through the University of Cambridge Temporary Employment Service and the position will be based within the University of Cambridge Museums.

The Role University of Cambridge Museums (UCM), is one of only 16 museum services nationally to secure Major Partnership Funding from the Arts Council England (ACE). The Connecting Collections programme (CC) will transform access to the exceptional collections and research resources of the eight University of Cambridge Museums. Substantial digital innovation, high-profile exhibitions, imaginative learning programmes and effective marketing across the University museums and with wider cultural partners will reach and benefit audiences locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

The assignment will provide administrative marketing support for the University of Cambridge Museums Marketing and Press Coordinator with a focus on marketing activity at The Polar Museum and the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.

Main responsibilities - Administrative and practical support for the UCM Marketing and Press Coordinator.

- Distributing posters, flyers, invitations to special events, and other marketing material as required.

- Arranging and attending meetings at The Polar Museum and Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, and with the UCM Marketing and Press Coordinator as appropriate; booking meeting rooms, arranging refreshments and taking and writing up minutes.

- Collating and filing press coverage.

- Social media activity for The Polar Museum, Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology and the UCM.

The Person

- Marketing experience, with excellent organisational and time management skills plus the ability to multi-task.

- Confident using Adobe Indesign and Photoshop would be an advantage.

- An interest in the museums sector.

- Diplomacy, tact and with excellent spoken and written communication skills.

- Attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to prioritise and comfortably adapt to changing circumstances and requirements, including working across several museums on different days.

- Enjoys working flexibly as part of a team but can work independently with minimum supervision, taking responsibility and initiative where required.
