University of Cambridge Museums (UCM) Marketing & Press Coordinator

University of Cambridge Museums (UCM) is one of only 16 museum services nationally to secure Major Partnership Funding from the Arts Council England (ACE). The Connecting Collections programme (CC) will transform access to the exceptional collections and research resources of the eight University of Cambridge Museums. Substantial digital innovation, high-profile exhibitions, imaginative learning programmes and effective marketing across the University museums and with wider cultural partners will reach and benefit audiences locally, regionally, nationally and internationally.

Working closely with the members of the UCM core team and staff from the eight museums, you will play a key role in ensuring the aspirations of the Connecting Collections are met by promoting the University of Cambridge Museums to the press, public, stakeholders, funders and other institutions, via print and electronically via the website and e-marketing through strategic marketing, press and public relations activity.

You will be able to demonstrate well honed written and verbal communications skills gained through working in marketing, communications, press or a similar environment plus confidence and discretion when dealing with a wide variety of audiences. Evidence of experience of writing copy for a variety of different purposes and, in particular promotional and press material is essential.

Practical computer skills with MS Word, Access database, InDesign or similar design programmes are required. Knowledge of website data in-put would be useful and a demonstrable ability of managing databases is necessary.

Offers of employment will be conditional upon the satisfactory outcome of a Security check. Whether an outcome is satisfactory will be determined by the University.
