ImageFamilies at the Fitz this Christmas

Admission to the Fitzwilliam Museum is completely free - so escape the winter chill, wander the galleries and explore this fantastic collection of art and antiquities.

Families and accompanied children can drop in to the free ‘Star Gazing’ Christmas workshop on Saturday 12 December, from 11.00 to 12.30, where Museum staff will be on hand to help you make stars of your own to take home. The special Star Gazing gallery trail, which leads younger visitors on a star-spotting trip around the Fitz’s galleries, will be available at this session, and also free from the information desks after this date.

Also available are the ‘Family First Saturdays’ drop-in sessions, where families can pick up drawing materials, activities and trails to use throughout the Museum - join us on Saturday 5 December when a special Christmas decorations workshop is on offer, or on Saturday 2 January to welcome the New Year (both sessions 14.00-16.00).

For families visiting at any other time, the Museum’s free FitzKits activity boxes are available free from the information desks all year round.

For full information on all family activities at the Museum, please visit our What’s On pages.

Our Christmas and New Year opening hours are as follows:
Open Tuesday - Saturday: 10.00 - 17.00, Sunday and Monday 28 December: 12.00 - 17.00
Closed 24, 25, 26 & 31 December and 1 January.
