Reporting to the Assistant Director, Central Services, you will provide strategic Human Resources advice, guidance and support to the Senior Management Team. 

Both directly and in liaison with University HR Business Team, you will ensure that University policies and procedures are adhered to and that the Museum complies with employment legislation and best practice.  Working closely with line managers, you will provide comprehensive Human Resources management service to the Museum’s workforce which includes staff, volunteers, interns, placements, work experience students, apprentices, visiting scholars and students who work over a seven day period.

Excellent collaborative people management, organisational skills, demonstrable practical experience of day to day management and negotiation, plus the ability to coach and inspire others are all critical requirements, and experience of working with volunteer and apprenticeship schemes in the not- for- profit sector is highly desirable.

You should ideally hold a first degree and be CIPD qualified or be able to demonstrate significant HR experience and have a good knowledge of employment law and good employment practice.

An interest in the museums and cultural sector is welcomed.
