Ancient Greek silver coin from Syracuse, 485-65 BC

This silver coin is from the ancient Greek city of Syracuse in Sicily. It was minted between 485 and 465 BC. The obverse shows the head of the goddess or her follower Arethusa, together with the inscription 'SYRO' (sigma upsilon rho eta) for Syracuse. The reverse shows a cuttle-fish.
