Ottoman silver qirsh of Mahmud II, from Istanbul, 1823-9

This silver qirsh is from the Ottoman Empire, and was minted at Istanbul between 1823 and 1829 during the reign of Sultan Mahmud II (1808-39). The obverse inscription shows Mahmud's name and the regnal year the coin was produced in, with the mint name in the exergue.
