Medieval copper trifollaro of Roger I (1071-1101) of Naples and Sicily, from Mileto, c.1098-1101

This copper trifollaro is from the medieval kingdom of Naples and Sicily. It was minted at Mileto at some point around 1098-1101, during the reign of Roger I (1071-1101). The obverse shows a knight on horseback with the inscription 'ROQ E RIVS COME +S'. The reverse shows a seated Virgin and child with the inscription '+MARIA [M]ATER DNI'.
