3 Wooden headrest

Sedment, Egypt
First Intermediate Period (2170-2020 BC)
This headrest was found in grave number 249 at the cemetery of Sedment, which belonged to a male. The excavation notebooks make reference to the grave, which in addition to the headrest included a large plain wooden coffin and a pottery vessel. The grave is dated in both the notebook and publication to Dynasty 6 or 9 by the excavators. This headrest is manufactured in two parts.
