Description | Double paper leaf folding fan. Paper leaf fan with pierced and gilt lower sticks (gorge) and guards. The front is decorated in the 'applied faces' style and bordered with a floral garland on a red background. The reverse shows a large, central scene of a couple, a cavalier and lady, walking in a parkland setting. The reverse border is decorated in gold leaf with flowers, leaves and floral sprays on a pink or bodycolour (?) ground. |
