Silhouette and mask of rider
Mannocci created a mask with the silhouette of the rider figure cut out of transparent acetate, using a card profile as a model. Here, Mannocci can be seen using the mask as a stencil through which he paints the rider figure on the plate using a brush and liquid ink.
