At The Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge on 9th May 2011
This event is designed to illustrate the exciting and varied opportunities that have opened up in recent years for UK museums to build relations with Chinese museums. An introduction to China and recent developments in its museums, a presentation from a Chinese museum professional and case studies from UK museums on practical aspects of their collaboration aim to stimulate an exploration of the subject. Topics will include exchanges – exhibitions, education, youth programmes, interns, expertise, volunteering, artist residencies, websites, and tourism and funding support. The symposium is for museum professionals from medium sized and larger museums looking to build individual international relationships with China.
