From the 1511 Latin edition of the Apocalypse with the letterpress text of chapter seventeen on the reverse. The image derives from verses in chapter twelve describing events after the sounding of the seventh and final trumpet. The general composition is derived from the woodcut in the 1483 Koberger Bible.
