Notes:
There is a watercolour copy of this miniature by John Linnell in the National Portrait Gallery (no. 2146). It is signed and dated 1861 and inscribed "Fac Simile of a Portrait on Ivory painted from life by John Linnell 1821". Engraved by T.H. Jeens from a copy by J. Linnell Snr., and used as a frontispiece to Gilchrist 'Life of Blake', 1863. The engraving dates the miniature 1827, but this is seen by Bindman as a misreading of 1821. Also reproduced as frontispiece to A.T. Story, 'The Life of John Linnell', 1892; and to Keynes, 'Letters', 1956.
