Apparently there is a new film out with Egyptian stuff in it:

Paul Rehak & I saw the movie "Stargate" yesterday (nice thing about being
on Sabbatical!), and half the film is in ancient Egyptian (with English
subtitles!) "reconstructed" by Stuart Smith!
Our hero and his Egyptian girl friend (descended from ancient Egyptians
though living on another planet -- this is not a movie that taxes the
mind) are browsing through some ancient hieroglyphs which she begins to
read aloud; our hero, an Egyptologist, picks up on the language
immediately: "all I needed were the correct vowels!", as well as the
correct accentuation, we might add.
There's a lot of morphing here as well as the marines (Kurt Russell), but
no karate (alas).
