The Art of English
There are five levels of self-access worksheets; Elementary, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate, Upper-intermediate and Advanced. For every level, there are three worksheets; the same activities are included in each worksheet, but the activities are ordered differently. Teachers with large classes (in excess of 12 students) are encouraged to divide their students into groups and to give each group a worksheet with activities in a different order. In this way, we can ensure that small groups take different paths around the museum, thereby avoiding overcrowding.
The self-access worksheets have a dual aim. Firstly, they encourage students to look closely at works on display through completing structured and achievable tasks. Secondly, they revise grammar points and vocabulary areas which students are taught in class. Each worksheet is accompanied with a set of teaching notes including suggestions for vocabulary to pre-teach, grammar points to cover before the visit, extra ideas for optional activities and an answer key. We hope that students enjoy their visit to the museum and it helps them to achieve their language learning aims.
