Margreta Sonnenwald is a conservation student from Germany, currently in her last year of studies at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Before she started her course in 2009, she had already worked as a stonecarver in a Cambridge based company, following an three year stonemasonry and stonecarving apprenticeship in Germany. Her main interest is the technology of stone work but she also has an interest in archeological objects. Her pre-course internship took place at the Archeological State Collection in Munich, where she worked as a part time conservator during her studies. At the Fitzwilliam Museum, she is working on the Lansdowne Relief and other stone objects.
