Bronze portrait medal of Georg Henrik von Wright, Räsänen

This bronze medal was struck by the Finnish medallist Kauko Räsänen in 1976 to be issued by Abo Akademi on the 60th birthday of Georg Henrik von Wright (1916-2003). Von Wright, the most important Finnish philosopher of the Twentieth Century, was Professor of Philosophy in Helsinki 1946-61 and Cambridge 1948-51. The legend on the reverse can be translated as ‘Thought Proclamation’. 70mm.
