Henry VIII (1509-47), second coinage, silver penny, Durham, sede vacante (1529), 0.51 g. From Spink sale 1311, lot 60; ex Dr Ian Taylor; ‘found at Nonsuch Palace’.

Minted during Cardinal Wolsey’s administration of the bishopric of Durham between February and August 1529, and said to have been found at the site of Henry VIII’s Nonsuch Palace.
