Cycladic jar made of marble (GR.38.1901)The Greek collection contains objects ranging in date from the Neolithic period (around 3000 BC) to the Hellenistic, which were acquired by excavation, gift, bequest and purchase.

A wide range of objects and materials is represented: highlights include Cycladic marble vessels and figurines, an extensive collection of high quality Athenian black- and red-figured vases, marble funerary monuments, engraved seal-stones and Hellenistic terracotta figurines.

Greek objects are displayed in the main Greek and Roman Gallery (Gallery 21).
