The Greek collection contains
objects ranging in date from the Neolithic period (around 3000 BC) to the
Hellenistic, which were acquired by excavation, gift, bequest and purchase.
A wide range of objects and materials is represented: highlights include Cycladic marble vessels and figurines, an extensive collection of high quality Athenian black- and red-figured vases, marble funerary monuments, engraved seal-stones and Hellenistic terracotta figurines.
Greek objects are displayed in the main Greek and Roman Gallery (Gallery 21).
