Development Office Coordinator (Full-Time)

Salary range: £20,764 -£24,049 Limit of tenure: One year in the first instance

The Development Office raises funds to support the Fitzwilliam Museum’s aims and activities by applying for grants from charitable trusts, developing corporate sponsorship and seeking individual donations. The Development Office also provides administrative support to the Fitzwilliam Museum Development Trust and the Marlay Group (Fitzwilliam Museum patrons group).

Applicants should be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject e.g. English, History of Art, Business or Marketing. A high level of IT literacy is required, including the use of databases for customer relationship management as Development Coordinator manages the Museum’s database and trains other users. Demonstrable, practical experience in financial management is also essential as the post holder administers the Development Trust accounts.

Demonstrable office experience within the arts, heritage, education or voluntary sector is necessary and previous fundraising experience would be an advantage. Candidates must have excellent social, communication and organisational skills as well as the ability to operate independently and effectively under pressure and to represent the Development Officer whenever necessary. Flexibility, enthusiasm, reliability and diplomacy are essential in this role as is the ability to work as a member of a team. This post also involves managing corporate evening events and entertaining potential donors which will require some evening work.

Offers of employment will be conditional upon the satisfactory outcome of a Security check. Whether an outcome is satisfactory will be determined by the University
