Looking at Japanese erotica

Join Dr Ellis Tinios, Honorary Lecturer in History, University of Leeds, as he considers features of Japanese printed erotica of the Edo period (1603-1868) that distinguish it from European counterparts. Leading Japanese artists imbued their erotic work with humour and joy, affirming the conviction that 'making love is the prime glory and height of pleasure'. Guilt, shame and sin are alien to their representation of 'the way of love'

FREE but space limited. Admission by token, available from 12.45 on day of talk.
