Talks and Events
Join us in celebrations this half-term in recognition of the Museum's ongoing Armoury refurbishment project, due for completion this summer.
See a live knight give armour demonstrations - find out how it was worn and how practical it was to use. Discover the art of making arrowheads, shield bosses and pieces of armour with blacksmith demonstrations. Drop-in to armour and weapon handling sessions and touch a variety of reproductions, from early Greek and Roman swords to modern weapons inspired by fantasy games. Plus, get crafty in our family workshops - create your own shield/helmet and contribute to a banner for the grand horse and young knight parade, which we invite family workshop participants to attend in their hand-made knight attire.
