In the centenary year of the artist’s death, the Fitzwilliam Museum will stage a major exhibition of its wide-ranging holdings of works by Edgar Degas (1834-1917), the most extensive and representative in the UK.

For one day only the whole papyrus of the Book of the Dead of Ramose will be laid out for public display in one long stretch.

Main Entrance scaffolding

The Museum's Main Entrance has re-opened to the public, following the installation of scaffolding to enable a restoration and sustainability project on the iconic domed lantern in the ceiling.
